What is a Spam Filter?

A spam filter is a program that will detect any unwanted email and prevent it from entering your inbox. By using an email spam filter, you can prevent wasted time spent on deleting these emails as well as protecting your computer from spyware, malware and other Trojan viruses.

Benefits of a Spam Filter:

  • Ensures Privacy on your business email account
  • Protects your business network and office computers from viruses, spyware and malware
  • Prevents Junk email from entering your inbox, which saves you time in the long run
  • Offers you a personal whitelist and blacklist. Whitelist the emails that you DO want to receive and blacklist those that you DON’T
  • Automatically scans emails for you and allows you to check the ‘quarantined’ folder for any emails that shouldn’t be blocked

Much like Antivirus Software, there are several options out there for your email spam filters that Lowen IT can help you choose from. We will assess your current email need and present to you the best viable options for your business and your budget.

One program that we often refer is Barracuda Spam Filter. Learn more about this program here.
